I was sitting in my house this morning reading a short book about how our country has changed in eight decades. It's amazing what we have accomplished over these years. It's also sad that we have taken these accomplishments for granted.
Looking back on what we have grown up with and what our children have, it's easy to see how the older generations believe we have taken too much for granted, and that because of this, our country has gone to hell.
We've become lazy with the invention of technology and the knowledge of the internet. When my mother was a child, only the military had access to the technology that we experience every day.
Now we live in the times of technology where even our young children have their own cell phones. The best our money can buy. We've given our children too much, too fast. They take everything for granted and expect to have it all laid down at their feet, but the world doesn't work that way. They aren't ready for the "real world". We have not helped our children or ourselves because of this.
At a time in our country where the jobs are few, it looks like it is time for Americans to reinvent themselves again. How are we going to do this, you ask??? Well, I don't know. I do know; however, we have to do something before the best job to have is breaking our laws in the criminal society. I just hope that when we find it, it isn't too late to change everything around for the best of our society and people.
